Briquettes from Waste Paper

by A.S. Cajes

The production of briquettes from waste paper is a simple undertaking. It requires a simple technology. It does not require high investment. All one needs are a good supply of waste paper, a simple molder that can be fabricated locally and available time to soak the paper on water, shred the soaked paper, operate the molder and dry the final product. The heating value the paper briquette is more or less similar to charcoal.

Briquette is defined as a block of compressed flammable matter used for fuel and kindling. It is a substitute to coal and charcoal.
